Monitoring and Compliance

Monitoring and Compliance services focus on ensuring that NPOs adhere to the legal, financial, and operational standards set forth by the government and international bodies. The Secretariat conducts regular assessments to verify that organisations are maintaining transparency, fulfilling their missions, and meeting the requirements for anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT).
Types of Monitoring and Compliance Services
Routine Compliance Audits: Regular inspections and audits to ensure organisations remain compliant with regulatory obligations.
Financial Reporting Supervision: Reviewing NPOs’ audited financial statements to confirm that funds are being used according to their mission and in line with legal standards.
Risk-Based Assessments: Conducting specialized risk assessments for high-risk organisations to ensure they are not involved in illicit activities such as money laundering or terrorism financing.
- Special Permits: Issuing special permits by authorization from the Head of the NPO Secretariat for NPOs to engage in specific activities that may require additional approval, such as fundraising, international partnerships, public campaigns or tax exemption.
